JOY Families of Benedict, Stephen and John
Posted by: Pamela Service (ID *****4696) Date: May 05, 2010 at 11:24:49

We seek any connections to the brothers, BENEDICT JOY, STEPHEN JOY, and JOHN JOY, sons of JOHN BAPTIST JOY and SARAH GREENWELL. We seek specifically, children of BENEDICT JOY, for which the 1820 Census shows 5 sons under 10 years.
There is information gathered, for JOHN JOY who migrates to OH.
It appears by court records, that STEPHEN JOY and BENEDICT JOY remain in Frederick Co MD.
Though we lack baptismal records proof, at this time, we hope to locate children's records for BENEDICT JOY and STEPHEN JOY.
It is possible that our ALEXANDER JOY, b 1811 MD, might belong to this JOY FAMILY. He is noted on the ONECO, Stephenson Co., IL 1860 Census, as being born in MD.
Can anyone suggest a way to find Catholic baptismal records to study, for this time and place in MD?
