Matthew RYAN, Frederick County, MD - 1800

I am looking for some background information on a man named Matthew Ryan who I believe was a minister. A pair of my ancestors were married in Randolph County, WV in 1796 by a man named Matthew Ryan, and they are the only couple in the Randolph County marriage records whose ceremony was performed by Matthew Ryan. The bride had come with her family from Montgomery County, MD to Randolph County, WV in 1795. I think that Matthew Ryan may have been the family's pastor back in Maryland.

In using the census records on Heritage Quest, the only Matthew Ryan I find in early census records is one living in Frederick County, MD (which is next door to Montgomery County)in the 1800 census. This record shows that he is over 45 years of age, the right age for the Matthew Ryan for whom I am searching.

If anyone knows anything about this Matthew Ryan and his activities as a minister, I would like to learn more about him.
