I found his obituary in the March,26,1934 edition of The Frederick Post
-GEORGE SAFFER-
George Saffer,about 52,died suddenly March 17,at his home at Scranton Pa..He was one of 12 children and son to the late Conrad Saffer and Margeret Shaffer of Germany.Born in Emmitsburg,he spent his early life there.and later worked in the brickyards of Frederick and at John Hopkins Hospital,Baltimore and Scranton Pa.
The deceased is survived by his widow and three daughters;Anna,Mary and Catherine, and two sons George and Robert:Two brothers John Saffer of Emmitsburg and Rev. Brother Sigusmund of St. Louis Missouri.
Funeral service were held Tuesday morning from his late home.A requiem solemn high mass was celebrated at Nativity Catholic Church at 9 am. Interment was made at Cathedral Cemetery, Scranton.
