My ancestor Mark Lampton arrived in Charles County, MD in 1663 or 1664. There is a record in the archives of the state of Maryland which reads that: On January 10, 1664, at a Court held in Charles's County, Maryland, Marke Lampton was presented to 'have his age judged'". He was judged to be 16 years of age.
After that, a great deal of information is available regarding the births, deaths, marriages and other vital information regarding Mark Lampton's family. He started as an indentured servant, and eventually became a large landowner and tobacco planter in Charles County.
Family records indicate that Mark came from England, but I have not been able to find any passenger records for this period. It would help just to know the likely port of entry, or the names of ships that arrived during this period. Does this information even exist? Are there professional researchers of Charles County records that might be able to help me?
