Daniel Nowland supposedly b 1695, m Mary Hill, widow 6 Jan 1713 in Cecil Co

I'm seeking for any information on Daniel Nowland who supposedly was born 1695 in Cecil Co, MD (I have no "evidence" to support this) and married Mary Hill, a widow, on 6 Jan 1713 in Earleville, Cecil Co. (online evidence on and had at least 3 children Thomas, Hannah, and Benjamin (whom I suspect as being the father of Peregrine Nowland, my 4th gr grandfather) (evidence on the 3 children are online birth records showing the parents as being Daniel and Mary Nowland).

All of the genealogies that I have seen of Pierce Nowland show a Daniel being a son of Thomas Nowland and Mary Parrish, Thomas being of the lineage of Pierce Nowland. But in those same genealogies, I have seen Mary Hill (they call her Mary Boyer Hill) as being married to Thomas. So, because of that, I'm skeptical of adding Thomas and Mary Parrish Nowland as part of my lineage.

I guess I'm asking how do they know that? In all those same genealogies, they never show Daniel as being married or having children. Is there more than one Daniel?

Thank you in advance for any help in clearing up my confused thinking!
