Glad you're still at it.
I did indeed find the records.
Anne Livingston kindly lead me by the hand to the Maryland Digital records and what a find! Now have a photo copy of the original record that clearly includes the name of the wife of the earliest (so far) John Largent here in America.
Her name was Evis. Because of 2 Deeds, it also can be implied that John married her about 1715. This SHOULD indicate that John was born abt 1695 or so if he was age 21 or older at that time. If you are interested in the Early Deeds for Cecil County, Maryland I can try to send you the Link.
You will have to sign up with them but it is fairly easy and for me quite productive.

I too think there is more than a casual link between the Largents and Penningtons. Was Evis a Pennington??? Would like to be able to nail that down some day.

As for their religion. Could be almost anything.
