Section 5

Descendants of Abraham Derr ( 1767 - 1829), son of George Derr (1711-1770)

Abraham Derr was B. 11 May 1767 and christened in the Old Goshenhoppen Lutheran church, Upper Salford Twp., Philadelphia, later Montgomery, Co. PA. His sponsor (for whom he was probably named) was Abraham Tuerckis, along with Margaretha Wagner.
His wife was Elisabeth (1767-1822), the daughter of Ulrich Stuller / Stoller,(1726 -1814) and his wife, Elisabeth (nee Miller).
Ulrich Stoller's name appears on the passenger list of the ship "Phoenix" that arrived in Philadelphia 15 Sep. 1749. His gravestone, at Baust's Reformed church in Tyrone, Carroll Co. MD, states he was born 30 Sep 1726, and he is possibly the son of an Ulrich Stoller b. 19 Jan 1700 - d. 23 Dec. 1741, Gsteigwiler, Bern, Switzerland and his wife, Verna Schaefer, (son of an Ulrich Stoller and his wife, Christina Brunner), where the Stoller name seems to be widespread.

Ulrich first lived in Upper Salford Twp, Philadelphia, later Montgomery, Co., PA. where he married Elizabeth (7 Oct 1757-13 Nov 1822), dau. of Andreas Miller, whose will, proved 2 Nov 1758, left him his plantation of 150 acres, valued at 300 lbs, which he sold to his brother-in-law, Frederick Wentz, in Dec of 1758.
He and his family also moved to Frederick, later Carroll, Co., MD and their graves are at Baust's church.

Abraham Derr seems to have lived in York Co. PA, where his children were baptised, up to around 1798, when he is listed with 125 acres in Piney Branch and Taneytown hundred in the Baltimore Co. Particular Assessment List of that year.

Between 1802 and1815 he bought parcels of land totaling over 300 acs. around Uniontown, Frederick Co. MD. (Later Carroll Co.) He played an active part in the Reformed congregation of Emmanuel (Baust's) church, Tyrone, Carroll Co., MD, (near Uniontown), where he and his wife are buried., along with the Stollers.

He died on his birthday, 11 May 1829, and left no will, but his heirs are listed in Frederick Co. Equity Case # 1020, Liber JS 10, pp. 65-86.
