Hello Thornton,

We believe that John Peterman Koller's parents were Jacob Koller (1781-1858) and Catherine Peterman of Shrewsbury, York County, PA. Jacob took a second wife, Elizabeth Miller (1789-1860), around 1818. Jacob, Elizabeth, and some of the children moved to Cumberland County in 1845, and Jacob is buried at Trindle Spring Lutheran there.

John P. Koller's paternal grandfather, then, would be the John Koller (1752-1815) buried at Fissel's in Shrewsbury.

There are various church records and family narrative writings from the 18th and 19th centuries that support this account. However, we're trying to confirm things using DNA testing. If you are a direct paternal descendant of John P. Koller (or know someone who is), please contact me about the possibility of sharing relevant results from a DNA test.
