There are several men with the name Carroll ZENTZ, so it's quite likely your Carroll is related to the others. Do a Google search for him, and you'll find a BANKERT file in which the SENTZ family begins with Joseph (1799 - 1876) who m. Catherine BANKERT & had [101] Wm. H., Peter N., Matilda, Augustus T., Jeremiah, John T., Oliver P., & Joseph B.
You can find quite a bit about which families lived in Taneytown, Carroll Co., 1880, on FamilySearch by using just the surname ZENTZ and that location for a census search. Taneytown, 1880, had one YINGLING family, Albert, 33, & Maria, 28, with son Wm., 1, but there were lots of YINGLING families elsewhere in Maryland.
Social Security Death Index has a Carroll (1900 - 1981). Perhaps his obituary would have clues to the others.
