I have learned Sykesville was not incorporated until 1903. What was it called before then, waaay before then? I am researching Abell Browne from Dumfries Scotland who died in the area 25 February 1701, buried at All Hollows Parrish? Son Robert Browne married Katherine Cheney (widow of James Parnell) 1702 All Hallows Parrish OR Westminster Parrish OR South River Parrish, either 12 June , 18 June, or 7 September!!! Could these be Banns? I have found that Robert and Katherine's son Abel was part of the founding of St Barnabas Church in Howard CO 1771. I descend from their daughter Barbely Comfort Browne, born about 1723 Ann Arundel CO MD. She married John Lanham, born 1723, possibly in Prince George's CO MD. Anyone researching BROWN(E), LANHAM/LANGRUM, or CHENEY in the early 1700s MD, please contact me. Pj Sisseck, Cheney WA <pjrdsis@hotmail.com>
