Hoopers Caroline Co. late 1700s

In going through the "History of Caroline Co., MD" in the late 1700s, there is mention of....
a Wm. HOOPER to attend a general meeting at Annapolis....
a General Henry HOOPER
a Captain William HOOPER of the West Battalion: 1st
Company Boosboro and Oakland regions.....
A Wm. HOOPER, Esq. Sheriff about 1773/4..........
AND in 1777, Co. William RICHARDSON is requested to assist General HOOPER in quelling the insurrection in Somerset and Worcester Cos.
Does anyone have information on the families of the above Hoopers?
Also searching for any data on a 'BARTON' Hooper b/about that time.
Any assistance appreciated.
