The Library of Congress has "Genealogical Narrative, A History of the Claggett-Irvine Clans," by Edith Kerns Chamber. The CLAGGETT family is also covered in "Across the Years in Pr. Geo. Co., MD," by E. G. BOWIE. Francis MAULDIN may have been the Francis MALIN transported to Maryland by 1653, (Q:68, SKORDAS' "Early Settlers of MD," from land records). J. R. KELLY's "Quakers in the Founding of AA Co." has a letter signed in March 1689 by Francis MALDEN, et al. "MD Rent Rolls, 1700+," show that Fran. MALDEN, Calvert Co., was possessor of "Friends Discovery," surveyed in 1694 for Jobe EVANS on a ridge by a branch of Herring Run, Patapsco Hundred. Francis MAULDIN of Calvert Co. had will pr. 19 Mar. 1710. To wf. Eliza., exx., pt/o "Lower Bennet" & pt/o "Parker's Clift." To ch. youngest dau. Eliza, Wm., Jas., Magdalen, & Thomas, & his son, Benjamin. Eliza MAULDEN, Calvert Co., will pr. 22 Jan. 1720. To sons William & James (exs.), dwelling plantation, & to daus. Margaret, Sarah, & Elizabeth. To granddau. Prissila _ & Elizabeth STALLINGS. Wit: Jon. CAY, Coll. John MACKALL, Chas. ALLEN. O'BRIEN's Calvert Co. Records--Christ Church Register: MAULDIN, Francis, & wf. Elizabeth had Sarah, b. 3 July 1698 (sic, why is she first if b. 1698?) Margaret, b. 3 F 1692 James, b. 16 July 1695, & William, b. 16 May 1699.
