I am seeking any information on the Kelley/Kelly family that lived in the Brooklandville and Chestnut Ridge areas of Baltimore County. This would be in the general vicinity of the intersections of the current day Greenspring Avenue and Kelley Avenue north to Dover Road. I also know my family owned a farm on Broadway Road... just east of Greenspring Avenue. I saw an 1850's map of Baltimore County at the Library of Congress, and it showed a "Thomas Kelly headquarters" in the area where my family lived on Greenspring Avenue. Does anyone know what this might mean? Other people residing in that area were Alex Brown, Lewis DeHoff and Phillip Sadler. I also know that in 1876, the Kelley damily donated land in this area for the building of School #6 in Baltimore County. I am also looking for more information on that. The male Kelley names I am researching are:
James Kelly m. Prudence Logsdon
Thomas Deye Kelley m. Charity Gorsuch
Thomas Kelley m. Catherine Fryfogle
John Gorsuch Kelley m. Mary Jane Mallonnee
John Thomas Kelley m. Mary Jeffrey
Arnet Leo Kelley m. Sophie Jeanette Mays
I would appreciate any information and am willing to share what I know.
