Looking for family, friends and knowledge of Lieutenant William Wilson BURGAN. Listed Next of Kin, his parents, Mr. & Mrs. John K. BURGAN. 6019 Sycamore Rd., Baltimore, MD. William was born, Oct 26, 1917. Parents were John K. & {?}Marceese/Mareese BURGAN. Known sister of the submariner is, Virginia C. (BURGAN) GUTZMAN. John K. BURGAN, son of William & Annie K. BURGAN. Known brother of John K., is Harry C. The sister Virginia (BURGAN) GUTZMAN, is found in Pima Co., AZ and believe her husband was Douglas F. GUTZMAN. I believe Virginia died in 2005, Calabasas, Los Angeles Co., CA. I also believe the submariner’s father dies in Pima Co., AZ in 1979.
Lieutenant William Wilson BURGAN, was aboard the submarine USS WAHOO (SS-238) that went missing in October 1943. In La Perouse Strait, Northern Japan. Sunk by a combination of air attack and depth charging. Recently a discovery was made and the Naval Dept. has now made an announcement that the submarine found by divers, is the WWII USS WAHOO. We wish to share the news and give any information needed to family and friends.
