Maryland PROVINCIAL COURT (Judgment Record)

Recently, I discovered, via a Tipton surname message board posting from 2004, a potentially great genealogical resource that includes Baltimore Co. depositions. The MSA citation is PROVINCIAL COURT (Judgment Record), series MSA S551, for the period 1658-1775, also available on microfilm under series SM20. I understand that the years 1658-1665 can be found transcribed in the Archives of Maryland series (vols. 41 and 49) which is on-line. At least some of the later years are indexed on microfilm. Most of the records also are available via LDS, Family History Library, titled Provincial Court judgements, under various FHL microfilm nos. (28 microfilm reels), depending upon the volume no. and respective year(s). There are at least 64 volumes, ranging from 1679 to 1778, with a note that v. 12 (v. 11-13 cover the years 1707-1712) is indexed. The Tipton post mentions depositions from several Tiptons, Christopher Giest, James Chilcoat and Edward Shoate, which depositions I've not seen anywhere else. I'd like to hear from anyone who has used this resource, so that I can find examples of judgment records contained therein. Also, have these records (or an index) been published? Chilcoat's deposition apparently was dated 10/3/1743, and he signed over his property to his brother John the following year. So perhaps there was a judgment against James, and he made the assignment as a shield against his creditors? Of course, as time permits, I'll try to obtain a copy of the original record.
