Hi,

This is a longshot, but here goes:

I descend from Hannah Harris, b. ca. 1720 (ish) in Harford (then Baltimore) Co. MD. She married Thomas Smith, who operated Smith's Ferry in Havre de Grace. I have been unable to find Hannah's parents, but the likeliest couple so far is Edward Harris who m. (as her second husband) Frances (Kilbourne? seen that name all over, but haven't found documentation). The same Frances who m. (1) Daniel Johnson, (3) Hugh Grant, and (4) Miles Foy.

No one seems to have any documentation supporting the conjecture that Edward and Frances' four year marriage produced any children. The timing and place seem right, and by the land records I know that Daniel Johnson and Frances (through her various marriages) owned land on the Susquehanna. Apparently Miles Foy had something to do with boats & ferries as well.

So here's the six million dollar question, at least from my vantage point: did Edward and Frances have any children, esp. a daughter named Hannah?

And while I'm at it, does anyone really know for sure that Frances' maiden name was Kilbourne?

Thanks for any help you can provide.

cheers,

Gordon Bonnet
