From the diary of George Upton Harn in the Ellen D. Harn manuscript, "...but my memory is very clear, that my father and grandfather always asserted that the first comer settled on the Severn River in Maryland." This statement by George Upton Harn caught my attention. Severn River is located in Anne Arundel County, Maryland. And I found several clues between Timothy Ragan, Sr., my colonial ancestor, and Daniel Harn/Hearn/Hearne in my family research. First, I found that Timothy Ragan, Sr. sold heifers in the Bill of Sale to Daniel Hearne of Prince Georges (later Anne Arundel) County, Maryland in 1723. Then, in 1728, Daniel Hearne of Anne Arundel County, Maryland sold back the same heifers to John Ragan and Timothy Ragan Junior, the sons of Timothy Ragan, Sr. Second, I also found Daniel Hearne on 1748 petition from Anne Arundel County, Maryland. He was listed there, and was living close to Timothy Ragan (Junior) [Father of my Revolutionary War ancestor, Timothy Ragan], Robert Nelson, and others at Elk Ridge community. It is believed that this Daniel Hearn/Hearne MIGHT HAVE married the daughter of Timothy Ragan, Sr. I do have two named daughters, Catherine and Mary whom I do not have anything on their marriage. I wonders if there is any connections between the Ragan family and Hearne familly. Thought I would all of you know about my interests in this Daniel Harn/Hearn/Hearne of Anne Arundel County, Maryland. Does anyone have done any research on this Daniel Harn/Hearn/Hearne?
