John and Frank McWhorter of Texas
Posted by: Charles Carroll (ID *****9002) Date: August 17, 2010 at 10:58:36

I am trying to figure out the parents of John McWhorter, 1869-1924 and his brother Frank M. McWhorter. Both appear to be residents of Anderson Co., TX from 1900 until death although John does not appear on any census from 1900 through 1920. John married Fannie Garner of Anderson County shortly after 1900. They had a child in the county named Roy Odell Walston. Fannie and John are buried in the county. John served in WW1. He died from gunshot wounds in 1924. Death certificate does not say if it was an accident. His birth state is listed as Alabama. He has a govt. monument.
Frank M. McWhorter was born in 1859 and died in 1926. The 1910 census says his father was born in GA.
