I'm grasping at straws but here goes...I'm looking for James B. McWhorter (McWherter) born 1809 TN (or York, SC area), who is found as an early immigrant to Texas, around 1837. In Bowie, TX 1850 he is living with a wife from MO, Suzannah b1824, and children Mary F b1838, Thomas J b1842, Hugh B b1846, Pauline b1848, and in later census I see he has another son John. These McWhorters are tied together with the families from Lincoln, NC and York SC which are together on the border during the early 1800s. The names fit, Floyd, Baird, Gordon, White, Love, McWhorter, Crockett, Elder, Janes... so look them over. Cynthia
