Hey, I think I found something. I found where Stephen O.McWethy married Asenath Thomas on Dec. 1 1857 in Jennings County, Indiana.
So, here is what I think about this Stephen McWithey.
He married Acentha Thomas and he died before 1870 because Acenith McQuithey married Andrew J. Fleming on June 29, 1870 in Jennings Co., IN. Now why the Marriage license for
James M. McWithey to Bertie Arney list his parents as
Skinner I am not sure unless someone was confused, or she was a Skinner and had been married to a Thomas before the McWithey. Just more confusing.
