Hello, My mother was a McElvoy. Her father was Leslie Lloyd McElvoy who was a brother to Sidney. There were 5 children in her family and some of them spelled it McIlvoy while some spelled it McElvoy. In researching I have found that my grandfather's brothers did the same. I have his brothers as Ulis, Jesse and Sidney. Some were born in Illinois and some in MO. My grandparents were married in Mo but my mother was born in Arkansas. Would appreciate any information you have on the McIlvoy/McElvoy line. I will be happy to share the same.
