I am not positive, but she would possibly
be related to my MCVOY family. My grandpa
MARTIN MCVOY (son of MARTIN MCVOY,SR 1841
born PensacolaFl and Eliza Cochrane born 1861
Calvert Co Md. Their son MARTIN MCVOY,Jr.
lived in the ANACOSTIA AREA of DC for 35
years until his death in 1961. What other
surnames are connected to your MCVOY? We
still don't know for positive WHY Martin,SR.
was in BALTIMORE when the CIVIL WAR BROKE
OUT. JUST GOT his pension records which
were loaded with great info. He was an
apprentice machinist in MD although he hailed
from West Fl. I figure he definitely had
family in the area and that is how he was
able to apprentice there. My dad grew up
in DC. His name was HOWARD MCVOY 1914-1969.
And so did my 2 older brothers who are now
deceased. Please email me at: gatreon@vnet.net or
cooltreons@hotmail.com
With any additional surnames that connect
to your McVoy's. My grandpa Martin Jr, was
born 1888 in Bowens MD (Calvert Co) and
married Margaret Julia Suite of St.Mary's Co
MD. I think my great grandpa was part
Native American from info on the 1920 census.
I know too, that some lines of our family
were Hispanic and some lines were also Mulatto and some were white. But it is all
the same family. Bonnie
