This is interesting. My mother's maiden name was McVitty, and she was born in a house called Greenbank, on the outskirts of Clones, which is in County Monaghan, by the way, not Fermanagh. Her father's name was James Presley McVitty.
The five children were: Sydney, Dorothy, Denis (who went to live in Canada), Laura (my mother, born in 1908), and James.
