Thank you. Yes, we have that information, with the notable exception of her being married to Thomas Hughes in Tennessee. I know that Thomas' children, Rebecca, Thomas, William, Sarah, Robert H., and Polly were recipients of one fifth of the estate of Raleigh Hughes (estate probate papers Madison Co. AL). Raleigh was in Fairfield Co. SC in 1797 (court records). They did not leave there until at least 1805 (census information on another Raleigh Hughes). So, we do not believe that any marriage took place in Tennessee. Somebody put that information out, but I think they were grasping at easy straws and not doing the in depth research. Nancy was quite a wheeler dealer. Raleigh's estate records show her being reimbursed for several gallons of whiskey used at the auction of his things. After she married McVay, she came back to Thomas' estate pleading a loss of IOUs so that she could get more money. I also think she may have been a black widow. Note that the value of everything in Itawamba Co. is in her name.

Kathy
