Im pretty sure that this line descends from the mcveys of the ten mile creek area and lindleys fort. I believe that they are family to john mcvay and others who were at the fort at the time. Benjamin mcvay is also in this family, the son of the benjamin b 1765 scotland. not confirmed. sinclair and eli adopted by william buchanan, i believe the reverend, and lived on his large farm. buchanan was a generous man with many adopted children though the late marriage and age difference would indicate that his new wife mary was mary mcvay of father eli(to sinclair and eli) I have tried to trace the younger eli(adopted)as mcvay and buchanan with no real luck. sinclair is easy to follow and lived a rather long life. I do not know how the father eli died, though his grave is with two other mcvays who died in the same year which could indicate disease or accident.
