Hello Everyone,
I am looking for information on John & Ada (?) McVAY who were living near Union Grove, Marshall Co., AL in 1920 & 1930. They "adopted" Nora SPANGLER ~1912 after the death of her mother and being abandoned by her father. Nora is my grandfather's sister, and may have some natural relationship to John & Ada (aunt/uncle, cousin, etc.)
John was born 2 Nov 1879 and died 20 Jun 1945. He is buried in the Mt. Carmel Baptist Church Cemetery in the Georgia Mountain community of Marshall Co., AL. John & Ada had a natural daughter, Alverta McVAY b. 20 Jun 1910. She married William Howard DISPENNETT. They are buried next to John.
If anybody has any information, no matter how small, please contact me. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
