McVay - SC/AL? I'm stuck!

I have been trying to locate the parents of Penelope, who married Samuel Porter and lived in Fayette Co AL. My research leads me to two families in SC: Langston, and McVay.

Samuel and Penelope Porter live amidst the Langston family in Fayette co Census AL, 1850. Entire encircled by the Langston clan of Greenville SC.

Samuel and Penelope's grandson is named William McVay Porter.

No McVay's are in North Al, except those related to Hugh McVay, born in SC, later Governor of AL that I have located.

In 1790, Greenville SC, John Langston leaves the will with the following list of names:

Grandchildren Asa, William and Jechonias Langston

Children:
Sons John, Solomon, Samuel, Joseph, Jesse

Daughters:
Bekka Williams (husband Thomas)
Fanny Langston
Sally Smith
Elizabeth Spann
Patti McVay

Hugh McVay of Govenor fame married a Martha, believed to be Hawks, according to writeups I read.

It's definite in the records there are more than one Hugh McVay in Sc. I identify at least 2 specific ones, Hugh and Hugh Jr. But was unable to identify age differences to determine if one was called Jr because he's a true Jr, or if he's just a younger one (that happened in another one of my lines in this same area).

In 1795 a Hugh McVay and Mary Langston purchase property from the Forest Hudson estate in Greenville. There are several references, always putting the two names together, but no proof they were related in any way.

My question is, who did Patti Langston McVay marry, and does anyone know of a list of their children?

I'm looking Penelope, b. abt 1839, who used the following name variations through her life:

Penelope
Penerile
Penina

Penelope married Samuel Porter in or around Fayette Co AL, and lived amidst the Langstons in 1850 in the same county.

Samuel died in Lauderdale Co, the same county the McVay's settled in.

Any ideas out there?
