Trying to find information on my grandfather Hugh Kerr McTaggart,s(born circa 1911 died 1962)family.Hugh had brothers called Alexander(known as Alec), Duncan, Matthew (his family has been traced), and sister Roseann.
Here is what i have gleaned on parents of Hugh Kerr McTaggart:
1) Parents - Duncan McTaggart born 12th June 1879 at 53 Richard Street, Glasgow,married Agnes Freeman (parents Thomas Freeman and Roseann Brownlee)on 31st December 1898 residing at 89 McAlpine Street Glasgow on date of marriage.
2)Duncan McTaggart,s parents were Malcolm McTaggart and Jane McKean who were married 12th July 1872 at 10 Clayton Terrace Dennistoun, Glasgow,and were residing at no 23 Kilto(unable to be exact as writing poor on marriage cert), Calton Glasgow.
3) Malcolm McTaggart,s parents were Duncan McTaggart (occupation farm labourer)
and Rose (unable to decipher maiden name on Malcolm McTaggarts wedding cert but witnesses are Jessie McDonald and Thomas Mair or Main.
I would like to know where this side of family originates from as i don,t think it is Glasgow. Also I would like to know where my grandfather Hugh Kerr McTaggart gained the middle name of Kerr is it from Jane Shedan Kerr who married a Hugh Mctaggart(?poss brother or uncle of Malcolm McTaggart) as on IGI site links them and other McTaggarts mentioned are Susan McTaggart, Elspeth McTaggart, Neil McTaggart, Hugh McTaggart etc.
This would help me go further back in the family tree.
