Seeking ancestors of both Mary Elizabeth McTaggart, and her husband, William Matheson. (Some descendants spell it Matherson and perhaps Mathison.) William was born 1841 in Cherokee Co., NC.

Their son, John Richard Matherson, (1864-1905, Clay Co., NC,) m Talitha Cumi Ownbey (b 1871 in NC).
