Jean,
I have a Hannah L. Bowen (b 1854) who reportedly married an H.K. McSwain aft 1860 in Cleveland Co, NC.
I found this census:
1870 Cleveland Co, NC Fed. Stice Shoals PO, hh#45, pg 112:
McSwain, H. K., 52, m, Farmer, NC
McSwain, Hannah L., 16, f, house keep, NC

Any idea who this H.K. is? It look like it could be Hugh Kerr but he is reportedly married to Catherine Davis during this time.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
