W. Carl McSwain, 93, of Thomasville
W. Carl McSwain, 93, of Thomasville died Sunday, January 27, 2001, at Thomasville Medical Center.
He was born in Norwood to the late Joe Hamilton and Mamie Thompson McSwain and had lived in Thomasville for over 70 years. He was retired from the procurement department of Thomasville Furniture Industries. He was a member of First Presbyterian Church of Thomasville.
He was preceded in death last February by his wife, Ruth Everhart McSwain, to whom he was married for nearly 70 years.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Bett McSwain Rogers of Oak Island; a son, Larry McSwain of High Point; a sister, Miss Aileen McSwain of Albemarle; one grandson.
Graveside funeral services were held today (Wednesday) at 11 a.m. at Holly Hill Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Robert Hann officiating.
The family requests that memorials be made in honor of Mr. McSwain to First Presbyterian Church, 21 Randolph Street, Thomasville, NC 27360.
