Peter McSharry/McSherry 1887, Cliffoney, Sligo
I have come to a halt in my research - and thought if I put the information out here, maybe someone would have some suggestions.
Thanks for looking.
What I know so far is....
Francis & Honor (Waters) McSharry .Married 1877. Townland Creevykeel, Parish Ahamlish, Barony Carbury, County Sligo. On the census it says that they lived in house #20.
Their children were...
Bridget (1880), James(1882), William(1885) and Peter(1887)
They were farmers.
James left for NY first and was later followed by my grandfather Peter. There were Waters' in NY that would visit occasionally - specifically a Mary Waters(possibly an aunt)
I do not know if William and Bridget stayed in Ireland. I also do not know the family of James. My Grandfather entered WW1 and was wounded. Although he did come home, he never left the hospital and died within a couple of years.
Francis died sometime before the 1911 census,
There was a "cousin" Nora McSherry that would occasionally write to my grandmother from Ireland (the north I believe)
I have also heard that a couple of the McSherry men in our family were school principals.
If any of these details - connect to any of the other families posted here. Please let me know. I would loveto piece it all together.
Thank you.
Bridget McSherry
