Hi Lidwina,
Happy to meet you. I have some information on James McShane's family, but most from census records and you may already have it. I do have a photo of James. Need to check records and get back to you, but I don't know much or anything about where in Ireland James' family came from. Would be very interested if you have anything on that. I would also like to check an old family story with you. Something about a McShane marrying an English woman whose father was a member of the King's Guard (not sure if that's the correct term). If it's true, I may have found her family in England. At one point, her father was stationed at the Tower of London. Seems to me their name was Goodwin. Will have to check records.
