William James McRoberts-was murdered
I am trying to find information on William James McRoberts, son of James McRoberts, married to Martha Susan Roberts of Rowan County (who is supposedly Native American- Kickapoo/ Sac and Fox??). Her parents were Troy Roberts(Scotland) and Amanda Hamm (Brown County KS) William and Martha had 13 children, three sets of twins. His daughter, Flora Amanda McRoberts from Sabetha, Kansas and later Maysville, Kentucky(married Parker) was my great-grandmother. I don't know her twin's name, but one of her brother's name was Willie(?). I know William James McRoberts was murdered in his barn due to a hate crime (he was very tall and dark-complected). And his mother was killed in a raid. My great-grandmother mentioned how they didn't have birth certificates and that they lived on a reservation and were close with the medicine man.
I would love to know which reservation they lived on and which native american tribe they identified with. And to also find William's mother's name. Also, who his siblings were.
Thanks in advance!
