I have a Robert David McRee who might be your man. He served in the Confederacy from North Carolina, but I don't know the regiment. He was born March 2, 1846 in Alexander County and died Feb. 22, 1931 in Catawba County. If you think its the same guy, just let me know if you need more info on descendents or ancestors.
