Hello Cousin Laura,

I estimated that Nicholas and Elizabeth immigrated "about 1832" because Ann was born in NY about 1834 and I found an 1830 NY census which had no McQuillen listings. Where did you get the 1826 marriage date?

I can't recall why I thought Ann was the only child not born in MI. I guess I surmised that from some census. I'm in the line of Daniel. My mother's maiden name was McQuillen and she was a grandaughter of Daniel. Daniel had three sons, Daniel, Andrew, and Palmer. The boys were raised by their mother and step father as Daniel died when they were young. My maternal grandfather was Palmer James McQuillen I would love to exchange information and family lore with you. - 3rd cousin jj
