My great grandfather Hugh McQuillan came to the US in about 1886 or later, and brought with him some of his children. My Hugh's only son was named Bernard, and family legend has him going to Australia. Doesn't sound like they could be the same person. Hugh McQuillan appears to have been a popular name in Antrim in those years - I have come across 6 or so separate individuals with that name.
