I came across your messages regarding Bridget and Patrick McQuillan.I don't know if we're related but as you can see my maiden name is McQuillan and I come from Castleblayney Co Monaghan.
My Father is Francis McQuillan from Castleblayney, my grandfather was Patrick McQuillan from Monaghan Town and his father was James McQuillan ( a stone mason on the Rossmore Estate outside Monaghan Town)
I don't know if this is any help but I have Aunts and extended family who may be able to help further. There are other McQuillan families in the county.I believe the origin of the name to be Norman/Welsh from Normans who settled in north Antrim and built Dunluce Castle on the North Coast.
