Agree with Dugal's birth. Agree he was most likely married in Scotland. Especially if he had a child b.1711. He wasn't transported till 1716. Agree he was most likely Catholic, but even Catholic widows and widowers remarry. Considering the high death rate of women in child birth, the men often remarried to provide a mother for the new baby. However there is 20 years between the child b. 1711 and the next child b. 1731. That is a bit too much of a stretch, considering the conditions in Scotland, I can't imagine that the family did much but barely servive.
