McQueen Farm 18th Century
Posted by: Lowell Green (ID *****6332) Date: June 04, 2008 at 18:12:40

I purchased a log cabin on 70 acres in Jackson County Kentucky about 2 years ago.
Im surrounded by the Daniel Boone Forest on the western edge of the cumberland mountains.
The farm is very close to the wilderness trail and the warriors path.
I was told that this farm once belonged to the McQueens who setteled it in the late 18th century.
The gentlemen that built the cabin in 1993 said the stones in the cabins fireplace were taken from the first McQueen home that was built 200 to 250 years ago.
This is a beautiful place and was trying to find out more about the history of my farm.
