Norman McQueen was born about 1806 in North Carolina and appears in the 1840 through 1860 Autauga County, Alabama census records. Book 1, page 234 Autauga County Marriage Records shows that he married Nancy Prime / Primm on 3 October 1836. In the 1850 Autauga Co., AL census, he is listed as McQuin which might be misread as McIvin. This census shows his wife Nancy b. abt. 1816 SC; daughter Mary J, b. abt. 1843 AL; daughter Sarah E., b. abt. 1845 AL; and son James, b. abt. 1847 AL. The 1860 census lists him as McQuene and includes the above members of the family plus two more children: Ann C., b. abt. 1851 AL and a child listed as a male whose name is illegible, but looks faintly like Calhoun. Others say that this child is a female named Catherine. Some researchers say that Norman had a son named Murdock by a previous marriage. There is a Murdock McQueen listed in the Autauga Co. census. Can anyone offer more information on this theory? I have been unable to locate any of this family in the 1870 census. What happened to them? Are they in the census under some really strange spelling of the name or, perhaps, living with a married daughter? Online marriage records of Autauga County do not show marriages for these daughters. I would appreciate any information concerning them. I can share information about Nancy Primm's family. B. Bazzoon Notify Administrator about this message?
