According the Ancestry World Tree, George was the brother of my great-grandmother, Mary Elizabeth McPheeters. AWT indicates that George A. and Mary Elizabeth were the children of Thomas McPheeters (b. ~ 1838 TN) and "mom"; Thomas is shown as the son of Millie (b. ~ 1811 TN) and a father unknown. Millie's children are listed as Samuel McPheeters (b. ~ 1836 TN; m. Mary E.), Thomas McPheeters, Mary McPheeters (b. ~1840 TN; m. John Reynolds), and John McPheeters (b. ~1842; m. Addie Walker). Minerva was the daughter of Peter Sifford (b. ~1819 MO) and Charity (b. ~ 1821 MO). Peter was the son of Henry Sifford (b. 1785 NC). Minerva's siblings were Aramina Catherine Sifford (b. ~1846 MO; m. John Wesley Fay), Thomas J. Sifford (b. ~1848 MO; m. Mary Crawford), Missouri E. Sifford (b. ~1850 MO; m. Thomas Wright), Malinda A. Sifford (b. ~1851, Stoddard Co., MO; m. James C. Reed), Amanda Josephine Sifford (b. ~1853, Stoddard Co., MO; m. George Batchelor), Mary E. Sifford (b. ~1854, Stoddard Co., MO; m1. George W. Moore; m2. Samuel Horton), and Rufus M. Sifford (b. ~1858, Stoddard Co., MO).
Mary Elizabeth McPheeters married James Rutledge 3 Jul 1879 Stoddard Co., MO. John McPheeters married Addie Walker 6 Feb 1890 Stoddard Co., MO.
According to the census records, George was born in MO, his father in TN and his mother in MO. We need to find George in an 1860 MO census record, to identify his parents more fully. I'll keep an eye out. Let me know if you find additional details on them. We need to connect these individuals to the others from McPheeters Bend, Hawkins Co. TN, many of whom came to reside in Stoddard Co., MO.
