My gg-grandmother was called Phoebe McPhail, she was born about 1817 most likely in Scotland.
She married my gg-grandfather Thomas Higgins, a farmer, who lived in Sligo, Ireland perhaps about 1840 but I do not know where.
She had ~ 4 children in Ireland probably.
I only found her name from a Death Certificate for her son, Charles Higgins, who died in Victoria, Australia in 1921. ( they have excellent BMD records ).
I have searched many genealogy sites, some paying,but there is no trace of her in Ireland.
Does anybody have an idea of how to proceed ?
