i am new to this forum so i will introduce myself , Brian Johnson , i am trying to crack the wall in my wifes family tree , her great grandfather was Robert WALKER born 1830 Greenock Renfrewshire Scotland and trying to find his siblings and parents is proving to be a tough nut to crack .
However i believe i may have found him and some of his family on the Scotland 1841 census and i think an Ann WALKER on the 1841 census as living in Greenock born aprox 1828 is the Ann WALKER who married James MCPHAIL in Greenock on 12/6/1851 and possibly migrated to Ontario Canada
On the Canadian 1881 census there is a James MCPHAIL age 57 and Ann MCPHAIL age 53 which matches her aprox birth year . They are living at Dorchester South , Elgin East , Ontario
