I know my great-grandfather's mother was a McPhail. His name was Thomas Jefferson Hallman. I found his brother's widow in, of all places, Olney, Texas, which is where he died. Needless to say, after he left my great grandmother & ran off with another woman, we had little to do with the Hallman branch of the family.
