I corresponded with a J. Miller May last year. She supplied the following:
"According to the 1901 Canadian Census that is now open to the public Thomas and Susana Mcpeake came to Canada in 1845.Before then we just knew that it was sometime before 1848 because their fifth child Thomas Jr. was born here in 1848.They first had a farm in Uxbridge Township, Ontario County.
Sometime between the 1861 and 1871 Census, they moved to Carden Twp Victoria County. The oldest son, Adam, owned the farm and his parents, Thomas and Susana, lived with his family until they died sometime between the 1871 and 1881 census.Adam had 15 children of which 3 died before age 1.My Grandfather Charles was the youngest and was born July 17, 1886.
In a response in December 2001, the following was provided:
Thomas McPeak b. 1803, m. Susanah Jones b. 1799, possibly in County Meath, Ireland.
Children:
Adam b. 1835 - Ireland
Sarah b. 1836? - Ireland
Mary Jane b. 1837? - Ireland
Ann Etta b. 1843? - Ireland
Thomas b. 1848 - Canada
You may be the aunt she mentioned in her e-mails, if so this is probably already known to you.If not, let me know and I will give you the e-mail address for J. Miller.
George
