I seek any/all info re the ancestry of my gggrandfather, Owen McPake. He was born 1802 in Co. Tyrone, Ireland. He emigrated to US in 1833 to the Philadelphia area and married Bridget Clark/e (b. 1826 Co. Meath, Ireland) in Allentown, PA circa 1852. They soon moved to Henderson Co. Illinois where they raised 4 sons(John James, Philip, William, Owen) and 1 dtr.(Mary). Bridget died in 1901 and Owen died in 1903 while visiting his son in Burlington, Iowa. Yes, he was 100 years old! I can find no record of Owen before the 1870 & 1880 census listings in Illinois, where he is listed as Owen McPeck (yet ANOTHER variation!). I suspect the fact that since neither Owen nor Bridget could read & write was the cause of much false census information. Any help would be greatly appreciated!
