WESTFORD - The funeral of Thomas W. McNiff, a resident here for the past few years and formerly of Harvard, took place Saturday morning at 8 o'clock from the home of his daughter, Mrs. John J. O'Connell on Main street. The cortege headed by an automobile filled with flowers, proceeded to St. Catherine's church, Graniteville, where at 9 o'clock a solemn high funeral mass was celebrated by the Rev. Charles F. Downey, assisted by Rev. James O'Sullivan of the Immaculate Conception church of Lowell , as deacon, and REv. Garrett J. Condon, STL, pastor of St. Catherine's church, Graniteville, as sub-deacon.

The choir under the direction of Mrs. Franklin Attridge of Pepperell, who was also the organist sang the GRegorian mass, solos being sustained by Mrs. James McKniff, Miss Mary Merrick, Mrs. Albert Hobson and Mrs. John Green. Bearers were Henry McDonald, Alex McDonald, Paul Griffin, John P. Nelligan, Thomas W. McNiff, Jr., and Leo McDonald. Burial took place in St. Mary's cemetery, Ayer, where committal prayers were read by the Rev. Herbert Coy of St. Mary's church. Arrangements were in charge of Funeral Director J. A. Healy's Sons.
