willie, i certainly admire your researching. you need to take over my ancestors. by the way, i only had two samuels, no lemuels in the 1850 census. the closest to the john mcneill that i mentioned was samuel w. stone, age 60, and wife, catherine, age 59. they were on page 274 and john mcneill was on page 151. samuel and priscilla were on page 777 and james was on page 777. i found nathan hight, age 46, on page 197. with plenty kids, but no wife. the neill mcneill that you mentioned was age 60 and born in scotland. nancy was 37. i think we can figure all this out yet and i will go through all my folders. i am so impressed with your research. elvalee
