Elvalee, Even though your response to my reply to you didn't delve into the MCKAY surname - I wanted to share the following message with you which is posted this morning on the Daily Search for Nov 21 2007 on the Bulger Family Genealogy Forum at message #507: PASTED: "Re: Summerside PEI Bulgers Post Date: November 21, 2007 at 16:19:18 Message URL: http://genforum.genealogy.com/bulger/messages/507.html Forum: Bulger Family Genealogy Forum Forum URL: http://genforum.genealogy.com/bulger/ I seem to think that I have replied to your question before but maybe not. Anyway, I too am a descendant of Daniel Bulger and Christianna McKay. In fact I'm the one that found the marriage record for Daniel so that we know something about them. I have researched the matter in Ireland without much success. From Daniel's obituary he was born about 1786. The Bulgers were from Luggacurren in southern Laois (formerly Queens County). The McKay's were really Mackey.s. Beyond that I haven't found very much. With Daniel and Christianna we are ealier than existing written RC records. For the record my greatgrandfather was Michael Bulger, son of Daniel. Hope to hear from you. Dru (Bulger) Breton END OF PASTE Perhaps this will help in your (and other searchers) search for your McNeill. All the old written documents I've studied seem very clear to me when you read the written form of McKee vs other spellings - the difference between McKay and Mackey seems huge to me but it could be true.
